I have been playing poker semi-professionally for over a year and as an amateur for a few years prior. Through all of my study and coaching, one thing became clear: if your mind is not in the right place, if your thoughts block you from taking the most +EV action in any given situation, you will not be successful.
Being a woman in poker brings even more complications. The dynamics of being a woman in a male-dominated field come out in many ways. Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s not, with men saying or doing things to purposely make you uncomfortable. Regardless of what the majority of poker players will say, men play differently against you at the table. Unless you’re Kristen Foxen, in which case I don’t think you need me.
I will help you identify your game’s mental blocks and mental leaks, work on helping you identify strategies to overcome them, and work on developing strategies that really hone in on the experience of being a woman poker player and identify how you can take what too many view as a weakness and turn it into a resounding strength.
